You don't want to sit in front of a doctor and have them tell you that if you don't stop eating the way you are, you will be either dead or end up with a horrible disease!!
Your health is #1.
There are a lot of quick fixes, fad diets and magic pills -- but at what expense to your health? One night I was sitting next to a vendor who was telling people they did not have to change any of their eating or exercise habits if they used the program they were selling. The woman, selling her program, was eating fried foods and a huge sugary dessert. It took all my control, not to say something to her. The sad part.. the woman bought the program!!
I have been involved with fitness and healthy living for almost 25 years. I know that eating right and exercising may not always be easy; but for me it wasn’t about easy, it was about being healthy. I had people constantly making fun of how I ate and asking why I spent so much time in the gym. It was rare that I could eat a meal without a comment from someone. Sure, I had foods I shouldn’t but it was a special occasion and not the norm.
With our instant gratification society, I see the quick fixes and instant results taking the lead over making healthy changes. It can be frustrating to watch this happen. Unfortunately, it does sometimes take a health problem or health scare for someone to make the changes they need to. I hope you make the healthy changes before you are sitting in front of the doctor.
Obesity is a health hazard!
Obesity rates have more than doubled in adults and children since the 1970’s (National Center for Health Statistics, 2009). Two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese (Flegal et al., 2012).
There are many health problems associated with obesity. Someone who is 40% overweight is twice as likely to die prematurely as is a normal-weight person. Obesity has been linked to several serious medical conditions.
Even if you are not overweight, so many people are unhealthy. We have so much processed foods, artificial ingredients, GMO’s, chemicals, in our foods.
You can take control of your health.
Start by making small changes in your eating habits and exercise habits. Eliminate processed foods, start walking or take aerobic classes. Yes, it does take some discipline but I can guarantee you that it will be worth it. If you need help, let me know. I am here if you are ready to make the changes to take back your health.
